Remove silences in FireCut helps you clean up your raw footage by automatically finding and deleting all the silence portions / dead spaces. This single feature saves our users hours on every single edit, because doing this step manually is not only a huge time-sink, but also extremely repetitive and boring.

To do a quick clean-up, go to Remove silences, pick a Silence cutting tightness setting (loose, default, tight) and click "Go!"

FireCut will analyze your video, find silences, and cut them automatically right in your Premiere Pro sequence!

But where this feature shines is in Advanced mode. This lets you control precisely how silences are detected, including:

• What dB threshold to use → audio quieter than this is marked as silent

• Minimum duration for a silence → so that very short gaps are not cut out

• Padding to add at the start / end → to avoid very sharp cuts

• Whether to add J-cuts → for a smoother cutting effect

• Reviewing/excluding individual silences → so you can preserve intentional gaps
